The frustrating fact that average Joe Republicans only seem to “see the light” when something affects them directly was summed up so beautifully by this tweet from author Adrian Bott, that it quickly became shorthand for everything wrong with the Trump voter.
Well, the Leopards are still at it and the Trump voters are still surprised. Now that we got a glimpse into the fascist Trump Republican health care proposal and budget that takes an ax to civilization as we know it, we see that the demographic of voters who put Trump in office are the ones who will be hurt the most. I hate to say it, but we tried to warn them.
CBS News reports, “56-year-old Linda Preast, who signed up for the program two years ago after a stroke left her in a wheelchair. Meals on Wheels delivers to her every weekday. Like most residents in Jones County, she voted for Donald Trump.
‘Are you surprised?’ Miller asked.
‘Yeah,’ Preast said. “Because he was told- I was under the influence that he was going to help us.’
‘What would you say to him to convince him not to cut this program?’ Miller asked.
‘What if it was your momma?’ Preast said.”
Indeed, she was “under the influence” of a flim flam man. Just like the victims of Trump University, Trump Steaks, Trump Magazine, Trump Ice, Trump board game, Trump airlines, or the plethora of other failed Trump ventures – were “under the influence” they were buying something that didn’t suck.
Watch the CBS video below :
Immoral Republicans seek to increase the budget for “defense” by $54 billion as they decimate funding for things like medical research, climate science, public housing, education, aid to the poor, infrastructure and much, much more.
Here’s another CBS Report that breaks it down:
Trump Voter Regrets Mounting
The numbers of people who regret voting for Trump is growing… and we’re less than 60 days into this debacle.
A Yahoo story reports, “A new national poll released this week shows that Trump supporters increasingly feel that he’s “going too far,” is falling short of their expectations of him for unifying the country, and is ‘getting sidetracked by things that aren’t important.’ All of which amounts to an uptick in ‘Trump Regretters’ (i.e. people who voted for him but no longer support him) since November.”
Right! “Average” Republicans are ok with Republicans repealing OTHER people’s insurance. They only worry when it’s their own that’s in jeopardy.
Yes, Republicans put the “idiot” in useful idiot. So much so that the Washington Post gave the old “Day in the Life of Joe Middle Class Republican,” a Trumpian update, titled, “A day in the life of a poor American under Trump’s proposed budget.”
What a shame the harm inflicted by Republicans doesn’t just affect the people who helped put them in office. Unfortunately, they drag the entire country down with them.Click here for reuse options!
