On Wednesday night, actor Tom Hanks made a stunning annoucement on Instagram. He and his wife, Rita Wilson, had tested positive for coronavirus while in Australia working on an upcoming film about Elvis Presley. Per standard protocol, he and Wilson are under quarantine for the next few days.
By nearly all accounts, Hanks’ announcement was one moment where, as they say, “sh*t got real” about the coronavirus scourge. Tributes have poured in from around the world. But one person isn’t wishing Hanks well. She believes Hanks is only faking being sick because he’s about to be exposed for his role in a massive child sex trafficking ring.
Liz Crokin is arguably the loudest and most obnoxious promoter of the idea that nearly everyone who is anyone in the Democratic Party and Hollywood is involved in sex trafficking. She first started peddling this drivel as part of the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, and was one of many so-called protectors of children who claimed these “sick and evil” people were operating out of a Washington pizzeria.
She has been an equally shameless promoter of Pizzagate’s bastard child, QAnon, which claims that one of Donald Trump’s senior advisers is using 8chan to dribble out his boss’ plans to open the trap door under these perverts. Even when Twitter banned her in 2018 for falsely accusing J. K. Rowling of covering for pedophiles, she’s pressed on with her lunacy on YouTube and Instagram.
For some time, Crokin and other QAnon kooks have claimed that everyone taking part in this pedophilia ring is about to be swept up in a wave of mass arrests. Indeed, some, like Mark Taylor, have claimed that the coronavirus outbreak is merely a cover for this crackdown. On Wednesday night, Crokin took to YouTube to declare that she’s of that mind as well. Watch here.
Crokin took to the air just hours after Trump tried and failed to reassure the nation that his administration really was on top of this pandemic. She noted that Trump had announced a 30-day ban on travel from most of Europe. She couldn’t help but notice that one of the countries covered by the ban was Italy. Not only has the country essentially been the Vatican is supposedly “one of the biggest child sex trafficking hubs in the world,” but the country is now on a near-total lockdown after its health care system was overwhelmed by the virus’ spread.
She also noted that at the same time, some 20,000 American troops were being deployed to Europe for a multinational training exercise–the biggest such deployment in a quarter-century. Plus, dozens of “deep state” officials have come down with coronavirus, and a number of Trump allies have gone into self-quarantine.
Crokin noted Trump and many other conservatives have insisted that coronavirus is no more dangerous than the flu–a claim that has been debunked several times over. It led her to conclude that the social distancing measures are just a cover for the long-promised wave of arrests. She believes that when the arrests start, Trump will declare martial law and place the country in an Italian-style lockdown “for our own safety.” As she sees it, it’ll be a prelude for the military and National Guard to swoop in and haul the pedophiles into jail–and people need to be kept off the streets in the event of a likely violent reaction.
Now what does this have to do with Hanks? Well, Crokin thought it wasn’t a coincidence that Hanks posted about his diagnosis just 10 minutes after Trump signed off. She didn’t believe “for one second” that Hanks was really sick. As she saw it, she thought Hanks and other celebrities were either using the outbreak as “an excuse to flee,” or they knew they were about to be arrested and were just pretending to be sick “to help facilitate their arrest.”
What extraordinary evidence did she offer for this claim? Well, Crokin noted that for some time, a woman named Sarah Ashcraft has been accusing Hanks of raping her and running a sex trafficking ring on Twitter and Instagram. However, Ashcraft has made similar accusations against Hillary Clinton and others–but has yet to provide any evidence.
Crokin is treading on extremely dangerous ground here. What she is doing is the very definition of reckless disregard for truth or falsity–which would more than meet the threshold for a libel suit if Hanks were inclined to go that route. Moreover, her previous attempts to smear high-profile celebrities with her idiocy haven’t ended so well. Her attempts to brand Chrissy Teigen and John Legend as part of this ring ended with her losing her verified status on Twitter. And as we already know, her attacks on Rowling got her booted from Twitter altogether.
Lest you dismiss this as “just the Internet,” consider that Crokin is making this smear against Hanks despite there being at least two cases where Pizzagate/QAnon kooks put innocent people in danger in the name of trying to stop this supposed ring for themselves. Moreover, thousands of people have been trolled and harassed by these self-proclaimed defenders of children.
This must end, and this must end now. Head over to YouTube and report Crokin’s latest screed as inappropriate. Her rant on Hanks begins at the 17:14 mark.
