When it comes to the corporate media and Trump, like CBS CEO Leslie Moonves said, “it may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS.” That still applies as corporate media eagerly fall for Trump’s tricks. Now their anchors are swooning over the so-called President’s new “tone,” otherwise know as his ability to read a teleprompter.
Talking Points Memo reports: “‘It was a much more subdued President Trump than we’ve seen,’ Jake Tapper noted on CNN. ‘He stuck for the most part, 95 percent, to the teleprompter and the words that had been written for him, with him by his speech writers. It was a speech in which he clearly was trying to reset in a lot of ways.’
‘It’s without a doubt one of his best speeches that I’ve ever heard,’ CNN’s Anderson Cooper said.
‘I thought the night’s moment was Karen Owens talking to her husband. She is talking to her lost husband, her lost husband,’ Chris Matthews said on MSNBC. ‘I just think there’s nothing more to say than the power of that moment.’ You almost wonder if he had a tingle go down his leg.”
Even the liberal had some praise for PEEOTUS “You know, for the first eight pages we saw a remarkably disciplined Donald Trump, remarkable for him in terms of how close he hewed to with the teleprompter and then he started wiggling off it with the ad libs, absolutely,” MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow said.
Some on Twitter weren’t as kind to Trump:
Some noted the frightening hypocrisy:
Remember the outrage that President Obama used a teleprompter?
If it walks and talks like a fascist duck…
Remember when Trump made a big show of destroying his teleprompter?
This is the speech he wanted to give:
Remember when Trump and the Reich made a big show of mocking President Obama for using a teleprompter?
Of course, some people pointed out that Trump is just playing his game.
Don’t pester them with the truth – especially while they’re busy kissing Twitler’s ass!
