Another day, another Republican gets caught in the act of being their hate-mongering selves. This time, it’s the Alamosa County Republicans. On Sunday, the Colorado group apologized for a Facebook posting for that said Republicans “hate poor people.” Yeah… you read that correctly. I’ve said this for years, but this time, the Alamosa County Republicans are outright admitting it. The now-deleted Facebook post said, “Out of self-respect– be Republican, Democrats love poor people because they think that poor people will vote Democrat. Republicans hate poor people because they think the dignity of man is above being poor.”
Never mind that there are no bigger “takers” than selfish, greed-centered, kiss-up/kick-down hate-mongering morons who mock their fellow Americans a few rungs lower on the ladder while leaving them behind on the proverbial “battlefield,” here we have another example of just how unpatriotic right-wing Republican ideology truly is.
The apology read, “Hate has no home here. On behalf of the Alamosa County Republicans, and as the Chair of that organization, please accept this apology for the inappropriate and offensive post made on this site on March 30, 2018. The author acted independently and without the concurrence of any other member of the Alamosa County Republicans. The regrettable post was made with the intention of condemning poverty, not persons affected by poverty, and was not meant to insult anyone. However, that occurred, and the author sincerely regrets the post and has offered his resignation from his position with the Alamosa County Republicans, which has been accepted. Actions have consequences.”
Sure. “Actions have consequences,” but according to Denver NBC-affiliate 9 News, a tweet with the same message was still posted as of Sunday evening.
This isn’t the first time Republicans post their true, hateful, feelings on social media and have apologize, and we can rest assured, it won’t be the last.
Well, at least this time, they didn’t say they were “hacked.”
Here’s some of the reactions on Twitter:
Out of self-respect–be Republican. Democrats love poor people because they think that poor people will vote Democrat. Republicans hate poor people because they think the dignity of man is above being poor.

The official poverty rate is 12.7 percent, based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2016 estimates. Which means this @GOP “hates” an estimated 43.1 million Americans…and oh yeah, Jesus. Happy Resurrection Day yall!!

Happy Easter! Wait, isn’t that celebrating a guy who taught us to give to the poor, love our neighbors, welcome foreigners, and generally not be selfish shitbags? 🤔🤔🤔 keep it classy, GOP. So very Christian of you.

Of course, this is a party whose members trip over each other to praise their “favorite philosopher,” Jesus – the peace-loving hippy who said, “and he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.” Hypocrisy is the beating heart of the GOP. Ironically, the Jesus warned us about them too, “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.”
